UK/EI DX CW Contest - 22nd/23rd February 2020

Thank you for taking part in the 2020 UK/EI DX CW contest. The UKEICC team hope you enjoyed the contest. We are pleased to have received over 700 entries from 65 different DXCC entities, including Checklogs. We accepted some logs submitted after the 24-hour log submission deadline, but these late logs would not have been eligible for Awards. The Finalised results are shown below. Some entrants might notice a small change in their points score over the next week or two, as we further analyse their logged Unique QSOs. Congratulations to Keith GM5X (GM4YXI) operating from near Aberdeen on winning the prestigious, large and highly reflective Kenwood Cup, winning Overall and also winning the High Power Unassisted section. Also congratulations to last year's Overall winner Yuri RG9A on winning the High Power Assisted 24-hour section, to Sergey P3X (UT5UDX/M0SDX) on winning the High Power Assisted 12-hour section, to Terry G4AMT on winning the UK/EI High Power Assisted 24-hour section and to Alexandr UA5C as the leading European Combined winner. More section winners to be named here a.s.a.p. The 'Certificate' buttons are now 'live' allowing you to download your PDF position certificate. Individual UBN files have been e-mailed to entrants (sorry about the incorrect e-mail subject line) About 20 of the e-mails sent bounced. [ In the March 2019 UK/EI DX CW contest, we received 637 entries (up from 373 entries in 2018) and over 70000 QSOs were made in the 24 hours of the contest. Each year, the prestigious Kenwood Cup is awarded to the leading UK/EI Unassisted entry, and there are some Plaques for the winners (UK/EI, Eu, DX etc) of each section, and PDF position Certificates for every entrant ] 73 - Chris GM3WOJ, Tim G4FJK and Paul EI5DI - DX CW contest Adjudicators The UK/EI DX SSB contest is on 31st Oct/1st Nov. 2020

Zvone -- 9A2VX Nice contest hear u next year 73 Vlado 9A5MPV Used SD by EI5DI for logging -- 9A5MPV Very interesting contest did more score than last year what is always co SOAPBOX:ol best 73 de CT1DRB/OK8RB David Quental -- CT1DRB Easy to select the limited antenna class, since last storm has blown away my spider beam. 73, Arno -- DL1CW MNI TNX FER NICE CONTEST -- DL1NKB tnx fer nice contest. 73 de Harald -- DL1THB poor propagation conditions, poor antenna, damaged by storm and irreparable, now a half dipole up 7 m. But had fun for a few hours -- DL5KUD pretty low participation from UK/EI -- DL6KVA FT-991A + GP -- DL6NWA I just played for the fun of it. Thanks to organizers for the work. -- DL7GEM Nice test, very station all world play. see you next edition. 73 -- EA4AOC ICOM 7300 Dipole G5RV Long Version -- EA4BAS Tnx for nice contest. Good craic. C u next year. -- EI2IDB SD WinKey K3 -- EI5DI SOSB 40 Low power (up 100) SINGLE-ELEMENT ANTENNA -- EU1ADY QCX-20m 4W LW -- EU1ST ew4am@tut.by -- EU4U Used FT897d 5w +TM535 tuner+LW42m -- EU6DX 73 FT-817 DELTA LOOP -- EU8F THANK YOU! -- EW1TZ 73! -- EW8OM Used a Dipole for 40/80 M with its cenre 2M off the ground !! Its a wonder I made any QSO's !!! -- F/G0PZA Good to a busy 40m, but not any EI stations, I must have missed them! FB for those QRQ STNS who send SN QRS. Good fun. I trust this helps you.Mike -- G0ATR Enjoyable - surprised what can be worked with a ZS6BKW doublet bent into the loft! Tnx QSOs. -- G0JJG good fun -- G0MDR Came on for a quick hour to check the water had gone from where-ever it was last week during ARRL CW. Seemed conditions were poor, but EU had high activity. -- G0MTN Sorry it's late, check log will do if not accepted. Mike -- G1SCT Cameo entry -mobile rally to attend on the Sunday . Conditions poor for inter G/EI working, wx gale force wins with antenna at only 5m agl. -- G2W Very enjoyable contest - condx's no so good for inter G/EI Q's - heard nil on Ten or 15M but 2040 & 80M good except for 20M closing after dark.-- 73 de Derrick -- G3L Very enjoyable and friendly session Very grateful to all stations worked including those who struggled through and persevered. Condx not th best and some rather punishing QSB on the bands today I use EI5DI SD very happily and seldom with issues -- G3LRS It's a shame there were other contests on at the same time causing confusion as many stations didn't understand the RM district number. Plus, many of the stations that were worked were in a different contest and wont be counted as a proper UK/EI QSO. I got a bit frustrated with having to explain the district number and repeat NR that I terminated my involvement in the contest which was a shame. 73s de Fred, G3SVK -- G3SVK Plenty of activity good fun. SD logging excellent! -- G3SWC Noisy conditions but enjoyable from the UK EI perspective! Thanks for running yhis contest. 73 Mike -- G3VYI Just a one band entry. -- G3ZGC Thank you for organising an enjoyable and well thought-out contest. Conditions generally poor ... and very windy ! -- G4AMT Used SD V21.19 -- G4BYE VERT POOR CONDITIONS. VIRTUALY NO SHORT SKIP SO SHORT OF MULTIPLYERS. A VERY ENJOYABLE CONTEST ESPECIALY AS SD MADE LOGING EASY. -- G4DDX just dabbled, conditions very noisy. -- G4IRN KX3, 5 watts, trap dipole at 7 meters and homemade 20M elevated vertical at 3 meters -- G4OZG Looked like good fun. Only had a short time available over the weekend with a power cut Sunday morning and a little time on 160m, so a short bash on Saturday evening. -- G4PIQ Band conditions very poor here. Tough going on 20 but to be expected with my EFHW down at 20ft due to strong winds. Plenty of activity again which is great to see especially under trying conditions. Very noticeable the lack of Clicky signals. Must be the change of rigs happening at last. Here Radio was an Elecraft K3 with amplifier at 400w into an 80m EFHW. used N1MM+ software which worked perfectly. Thanks again to the organisers of the contest. I think the format is about right for all. -- G6M Dipped in for an hour or so before bed on Saturday. Good fun, thanks. -- GM0EUL Thanks for the QSOs - 73 Chris -- GM2V Just a little play in the Gales -- GM3POI Found conditions poor for QRP, difficult to work across the pond and further east than 4X. gave up overnight as conditions very flat. Only 1 questionable 15m contact Did not work many UK EI unfortunately. Good fun best 73 -- GM4M only part time 2 bannd effort. Low band antennas out of use due to storm damage -- GM5A Very hard going with poor propagation especially on 80 and 40m. Disappointing how little support there seems to be from UK and EI!! -- GM5X Very torrid time due to the weather - Saturday high winds, snow, hail, rain, lightning = high noise & QRN. Sunday morning very high QRN S6/7 could only work very strong signals. Beam nested for whole weekend. Many repeats of call and number, expect to loose a part of the score. -- GM9A Poor condx, overall. -- GW4D Casual entry to give some points away. No antenna for 20m or 10m. Poor conditions and low activity from ZL and usa/ve. -- GW9J RIG: FT450AT POWER:100 W ANT.:W3DZZ -- HA0GK It was a fun to take part in the contest though propagation was not on the top and local noise added more difficulty to operate. Many thanks for QSOs and see you next time Rig Kenwood TS-530SP 100 W and ant 21 mtrs long end-fed wire above flat roof. -- HA2MN RIG: FT-847 Ant: Windom -- HA3FMR FT-817+FL110 30w FD-4 Thank you QSOs for the first time I participated in the contest. My DC apartment is 508 km from my CT station. -- K1ZZ Tough conditions here in NTX. 400 Watts, tribander, 1/4 wave sloper on 40m, inverted vee on 80m. -- K5KJ Conditions were poor but had a grand time. -- K5LY Portable QTH - FM29jw Points 2 QSO * 4 (Points / UK/EI CW Contact) = 8 Points. 1 QSO * 2 (Points / European CW Contact) = 2 Points. WX was horrible and I abandoned installing a 40m vertical when the fibreglass pole snapped at the bottom when I was adding guys. Horrible day so hoping for better next year. -- MM2N Appalling conditions on 20m and above. High winds, snow, rain etc suprised antennas stayed up! -- MM3T Work commitments prevented devoting more time to this contest....next year!! Good fun contest, I'll be back! Thanks to all ops that persevered with my CW. -- MM4D 1ST UK/EI DX CW CONTEST -- N1NN Regret missing first 12-16z portion due to social commitments; perhaps better if this is 30 hours next year and beyond! That would permit two possible NA-EU openings, which translates to much more activity. -- N3JT Busy schedule this weekend so not a lot of time, but the time I spent was fun. Thanks for the contacts. -- N4FP Thanks to all for the QSO's. 73, Gator N5RZ -- N5RZ 10W Homebrew -- N6HCN K3s, KPA1500, M2 KT36xa, N1MM+ -- N7WY IC-756 Pro end fed wires.
