RESULTS - 25th January 2017 - CW

Thanks to everyone who entered our first 80m CW contest of 2017.  Conditions favoured long skip, and it was easier to work stations at 1000km than 100km. It's good to see entries from so many stations outside the UK and EI. and you'll see in the Statistics section how many QSOs were over 2500km. Congratulations to this month's winners High Power Connected - HG1G      Unconnected - DL2OM Low Power  Connected - S57KM     Unconnected - SM5CSS QRP  Unconnected     - OM3WZ Note - I am looking at a possible mistake in the penalties applied to the entry from Olof 3B9HA in the Nov. 30th 2016 contest. Only Olof's score will be changed once I check this out.                                                                                                     73   Chris  GM3WOJ - Adjudicator

High noise as usual. Had a run to eu in the last 15 mins. Enjoyed the evening. Used SD as usaul which made loggin g easy. -- G4DDX Thought it would be hard work,  it was. thanks to all for q's -- G4EBK everything went wrong tonight blown psu and antenna down at the start -- G6GLP Really tough tonight. Most signals very weak. Last 20 mins band conditions improved. -- G6M Tnx for the QSOs - using a 50-year old KW2000A - difficult to net and to receive stns in the 2.7kHz bandwidth, but great fun. -- GB2KW Tricky conditions -- GM3A The contest is catching on -- GM3POI Only last half hour but good fun as always Europeans getting into the competitions too -- GM3ZDH Heard VK before contest but none during. -- GM4Z poor conditions for uk but enough activity from Europe to keep going -- GW9J first time . nice contest -- IZ2ZPH Very difficult conditions -- M0DCG Not too much activity, but still fun -- M0MPM Could only work first 15 mins but great fun as usual -- M0SHM MUF below 3MHz, so l-o-n-g skip. -- M9A First entry in UKEICC. Was 23 min late due to configurating. 73 de OH1SIC/SM5SIC Göran -- OH1SIC There was almost no propagation to England but stations at greater distance were strong. I suppose it is the influence of the magnetic storm caused by the sun.  But 35 qso is still a good score I think. I enjoyed the contest. Till next month. 73 Leon  ON5WL -- ON5WL First time in this contest, was fun.  Next time with a better 80m antenna. -- OO9O SD was a great help in this contest -- OZ1THC CU and GL! -- R9AB having lots of QRM from a  steelfactory located just 500 meters from my QTH. This occurs every day mostly 40 and 80 meters -- SE5L Elecraft K3 100w to Inverted Vee. Good conditions this evening! -- SM5CSS
