RESULTS - 4th January 2017 - SSB

Happy New Year everyone!  Thanks for taking part in the first UKEICC 80m contest of 2017. Before the contest started I did not expect conditions to be good - the band was noisy with some signals sounding auroral. However once the contest started the noise diminished and I was able to work a steady stream of stations, including many European stations with good signals from reasonably far away. Reading the Soapbox comments below, most entrants found conditions very difficult unfortunately. Since my score is the leading score and only one point ahead of Allan SM5CSS, I will ask another Adjudicator to run the software again and check everything tomorrow. We will publish the extra Results tables below, etc and will e-mail the UBN files to you tomorrow evening once this cross-check has been completed. Update 5th January 2017 - Paul EI5DI has processed the logfiles and his scores agree with the ones below, so congratulations to myself :-) Chris GM3WOJ and to Allan SM5CSS narrowly in second place overall and in first place in the Low Power section. Congratulations to Mark EI6JK and Martin DG5NFF, in second places in the High Power and Lower Power sections respectively.  Finally, congratulations to Steve M9A (G3ZVW) on winning the QRP section, and to Ron GW4EVX in second place. The Teams scores will be updated a.s.a.p. We had one submitted logfile which had a problem we see occasionally - the received locators had a zero instead of the letter O e.g. IO91 was I091 in the Cabrillo logfile. If the robot rejects your log, please look for this possible problem. Let's hope for better conditions for the next UKEICC 80m contest on CW on 25th January 2017.          73  Chris GM3WOJ - Adjudicator
