Results - 27th September 2017 - CW

Thanks for entering the first 80m CW contest of the 2017/18 series. The finalised Results are below. Congratulations to Mats RM2D (SM6LRR) on winning Overall and High Power Unconnected with his first entry into these contests! Congratulations also to Sandi S57KM on winning the Low Power section and Steve M9A (G3ZVW) on winning the QRP section. The leading UK station was Clive GM3POI and the leading EI station was Gerard EI5KF. I found conditions surprisingly good at the GM3WOJ station this evening. With the k-index at 4 I did not have great expectations, but the signals from Eu stations were strong and also the UK/EI stations I knew were QRP were also unusually strong. Other GM stations all had a 'hollow' auroral tone. We hope you enjoyed the contest - we are sending out the UBN files by e-mail now (2237z). Reminders - the UK/EI DX SSB contest is this weekend (30th Sept/1st Oct) - you can read the Rules here followed on Monday evening (2nd Oct) by the trial-run Random Numbers CW contest, then next Wednesday (4th Oct) by the next 80m SSB contest - note the expanded frequency range 3650-3775kHz. (jeepers a busy contesting spell!) 73 Chris GM3WOJ, Paul EI5DI - Adjudicators
