80m SSB Contest - 6th September 2023

Thanks for taking part in the first contest of the UKEICC 80m 2023-24 series. Conditions here near Inverness, before the contest, were noisy with long skip, but when the contest started the signals from UK and EI were strong. As GM5GEI I was pleased to work a good number of stations who had not entered one of these UKEICC 80m events before - hope you will take part in future contests. Have a look at our new "League Table" feature (under the 80m Contests pull-down tab), which will display the 80m results of all stations from all of the 14 contests. The two Bonus stations were EI5G operated by Tim EI2KA and GM5GEI operated by Chris GM3WOJ - thanks both. The *FINALISED* results are shown below. UBN files have been emailed to all entrants. Congratulations to Aiden EI8CE on winning overall and the High Power section - also to Colin M3E (G4CWH) as the leading UK station and to Allan SM5CSS as the leading Eu station. Brian GM4JYB won the Low Power section and Gerwyn MW7FON won the QRP section. Soapbox comments from UKEICC 80m SSB contest using 6 char grids on 06/09/2023 Good signals all round, thanks for the contacts, 73 -- 2E0IGD Conditions seemed noisy. Unable to hear most of the EU stations who normally take part. EI stations coming in well tonight and nice to work both EI5G and GM5GEI, first time I've got both. -- EA6/GM3ZDH hi to all taking part nice to be back. using SD logger - great app. -- EI2IAB It was a very noisy band for me tonight--S9 noise floor throughout the contest. My apologies to stations that I could barely hear calling me but could not make out your call sign. 73 to all and especially those who tried and failed to reach me in the far SW of Ireland from Ei2KA. -- EI5G Mixed condx with high QRN levels -- EI8CE Sadly not many sttaions to work -- G3RWF 1st time for this one.
