RESULTS - 2nd March 2016 - SSB

Thanks for taking part in this, our third SSB 80m contest of 2016. The band was busy and relatively quiet, and many entrants logged Leo UT2II at distance of 3000km or more. The Robot, which validates logs as they are uploaded, is getting better at identifing missing or invalid locators, and a few entrants were advised of errors and given the chance to re-submit their logs before the 1-hour deadline. The top three HP entrants were Allan GM4ZUK, Mark EI6JK, and Jonathan G0DVJ. For LP, the winners were Bryn G3SWC, Jerzy HF1D, and Dave 2E0KVJ. For QRP, the top three were Steve M9A, Graham G4FNL, and Steve GW0GEI. Congratulations to all concerned. The three remaining 80m contests in this series are as follows - 30th March 2016 CW, 6th April 2016 SSB, 27th April 2016 CW We hope you'll all join in again. UPDATE : 3rd March - we received a number of valid complaints about losing points because two entrants had forgotten to change the N1MM+ default locator IO93 to the locator that they were sending. The logs have now been rescored. 73 Paul EI5DI and Chris GM3WOJ - Adjudicators

Checklog received with thanks from Ray G3XLG. Very noisy band tonight--like 40m having a bad hair day. -- EI2KA Good fun, noisey band-keep up good work at getting results within hour-causes great excitement. Other contests should do it. -- EI6JK Getting more accustomed to SD less finger trouble -- EI7CD Great fun -- EI8IQ Deep QSB at times. DQRM again mostly at the start. Spent time explaining which contest and where to find details to 3 stns who asked. -- G0DVJ great contest -- G0MCV Good contest. Not as much band noise as last time. -- G3RXQ Good conditions & plenty of activity! -- G3SWC condx getting better. good fun. -- G3ZBU THE BEST NIGHT YET MORE INTER G WHILE EU ERE VERY WEAK. WORKED ALL IN MY TEAM AND IN MY CLUB THAT WERE ON. QUITE A FEW NEW ONES AS WELL. SD WORKED PERFECTLY. -- G4DDX Still learning the basics about 80m. Signals dropped so much in the first 15mins, I thought the antenna had come down. But things picked up after that. -- G4FJK Could hear the dx but not work it. Must get more height SD very gd. -- G7HYS used SD large fonts this time- much better enjoyable contest -- G8AFN 1st effort on this contest fab fun and sensible exchanges -- G8FCQ Having scoring problems with my log program tonight -- GI0AZB last 10 min -- GM3X noisy tonight, thanks to all with good ears who can hear me :) -- GM4UBJ Good start then got quiet after 30 mins -- GM4ZUK Late coming on by a few mins and antenna tuned for cw so decided to try qrp 5w unconnected section for a change. Pleasantly surprised that I managed to run a few times with 5w! -- GW0GEI Started at 100w until some wally started jamming so I put the amp on -- GW0IRW late start due to other things going on..... S&P'd around for a bit with occasional 'runs'. Audio on line as usual. -- GW4BLE Fantastic contest. -- HF1D very useful logging -- M0RLO Didn't appreciate G6MC starting to call CQ 300Hz above me without asking if the frequency was in use. Exceptionally poor form.... -- MI1AIB Noisy band again but enjoyed the chase -- MM1E Again a great contest. This time I tried QRP. I doubt every worked station has my call correct. Many thought to work with PA7BAS. But that's not my call.Heavy QRM sometimes. Best DX UT2II but again I hope he had my call correct. 73 Bas -- PE4BAS sorry having audio problems with my rig -- SE5L
