RESULTS - 7th September 2016 - SSB

Thanks for entering the first contest of the 2016-17 series of UKEICC 80m contests. Here near Inverness the band was very busy, with long skip before the contest. Activity seemed fairly good, with QSOs being made for the whole hour. Good to hear many UK Special Contest Callsigns being used. Welcome to anyone entering a UKEICC contest for the first time and to our European entrants - hope you enjoyed the event. Two important comments :  1.  One logfile had logged all the times in BST, not GMT.    2.  Another logfile where the entrant used an SCC but had his normal callsign instead of the SCC in the Cabrillo logfile. I showed compassion, consideration, sympathy and understanding because it was the first contest in the series, but it's a 10% penalty next time, hi.  Please pay attention to the Error messages that the log submission robot generates ! Congratulations to : Clive GM3X (GM3POI) on winning Overall and the High Power section (with Allan GM4Z (GM4ZUK) and Norby LX1NO in second and third places)  Bryn G3SWC on winning the Low Power section (with Tim EI2KA and Stewart G3Q (G3RXQ) in joint second place) Steve M9A (G3ZVW) on winning the QRP section (with Steve GW9J (GW0GEI) and Bill GM4UBJ in second and third places) The next contest is the CW event on 28th September, followed by another SSB event on 5th October. Get well soon to our friend and UKEICC team member, Steve GW4BLE !                73   Chris GM3WOJ - Adjudicator
