I didn't start the day planning on working this contest, but while sitting at my computer Saturday morning, listening to a lot of traffic on 20M, I looked up the Ham Radio Event Calendar and pulled up the rules for this contest. I figured I would give it a shot. I did better than I expected. Towards the end of my interest, I was walking up the band and heard an op calling CQ, looking for a QSO so I we had a nice chat. I use Skookum Logger and paddles, nothing is automated, so I am a little slower, but hold my own. Fun event. -- W1ND
Great to see a category for single-element antennna! -- W4PM
Good fun, lots of QSB. Sorry I didn't work more UK/EI stations. -- WA8Y
20 meter and 15 meter contacts were made from my Mobile. 80 meter contacts were made from home with a 160 meter inverted L tuned to 80. -- WA9LEY
Checklog because operated remote with my call sign. Hadn't noticed that rule. Was mainly just testing a new remote set-up, but had a remarkably early 40m opening to UK/EI/Europe beginning at 12:30 PM local time. This is extremely rare from California. Enjoyed the many European contacts, and even managed a few on 80m at our sunset and your sunrise. Was QRV for around 6 hours. -- WD6T
