UK/EI DX SSB Contest - 31st August / 1st September 2024

Thank you for taking part in the 2024 DX SSB contest. The logs have been reviewed and the Final Results are shown below. From everyone's comments, conditions were generally disappointing, with poor F2 condx on the high bands and high noise levels across Western Europe affecting 80m and 40m. Despite this, the North/South path on 10m between EU and PY/LU was good, but not many stations taking advantage of it. Congratulations to Rich M5RIC, operating as MW7C in North Wales, who once again achieved the highest overall total points and will be awarded the Kenwood Cup for the highest Unassisted score. Across Europe, there was good activity from the Baltic to the Balkans. Congratulations again to Arvis YL2LY operating as YL7X for achieving the highest EU score. We are always grateful for those DX stations outside of Europe who take part in this contest, and this year especially the eleven stations from Indonesia who sent us their logs, with Dedi YB5DDE having the highest points total in the DX section. The Teams competition was again well supported and the results are available on the website. Many thanks to all, 73 de Gary -- 2E0IGD My first UK/EI DX CONTEST -- 2E0KXJ Another short UKEI Contest signals not great at times -- 2I0WMN Tough conditions, but enjoyed the contest as always -- 4X1ST 1st time playing in contest...had fun...thank you 73, Neil -- AE1P a lot of fun with a (tr)uSDX 5W TRX with an EFHW antenna portable at a beautiful place near the alps -- DG6TOM Just for fun and the points for others :-) -- DG9VH Unfortunately, very few UK stn to work with. I was also looking for WAB fields. -- DH0JAE Great fun, but bad conditions -- DJ6DO First licenced in 02/2023 -- DL8AI unfortunately only some minutes time for the contest, so I hope for the last place :) -- DO3MOS - -- DQ55DIG/DH1PAL Got finished with maintenance work at EI7M early so came on for a short while (Hence the CK in the Exchange). -- EI30T/EI7IG Not that busy particularly in the small hours. -- EI8KN Thanks for a lovely contest propagation was mixed but still very enjoyable, looking forward to the next one. -- EI9HX Just for fun on saturday night. -- F6KRK/F4AFQ Propagation was not so good. -- G0DDZ Very high noise levels and strong QSB at times but enjoyed the contest very much. -- G0GQT Enjoyed that. UK and EI participation seemed pretty good, but general "passing trade" SSB QSOs were rare - perhaps symptomatic of changing habits at HF. -- G6XX/G4FAL Great Contest in difficult conditions. High noise and low propagation! -- G7LMJ Yet another contest where many East European stations are splattering with signals as wide as 10Khz! -- G8KEK Just on 80m for 25 minutes late Saturday evening. -- G8VPE Conditions terrible on Sunday. Beverages complemented by a HA5IW preamplifier. RUN1-RUN2 TX-RX filters,control boxes and antenna switches are all HA5IW products Thanks for all QSO's!
