Results - 4th October 2017 - SSB

Thanks for entering the second SSB contest of the 2017-18 series. Here near Inverness I found conditions good for about the first 30 mins, then the noise level increased and signal strengths decreased. There was a lot of QRN to contend with, as well as nets and ragchewers. Most stations commented (see Soapbox comments below) that conditions were poor this evening. The extra 50kHz of space definitely made things easier for everyone. The Results are shown below. As your faithful adjudicator had the highest score (thanks for the QSOs!), these results have been cross-checked by Paul EI5DI. So, congratulations to me and congratulations to Allan GM4Z (GM4ZUK) in a close second place and to Allan SM5CSS in first place in the Low Power section, also Tim EI2KA in second place. Congratulations also to Tim G4FJK on winning the High Power Connected section. Congratulations to Graham G4FNL on winning the QRP section, with Bill GM4M (GM4UBJ) in second place. First try, missing 20min, more CW operator -- DL0CG That was very BAD Cond. and not so many Station on us SD like Almost tnx Paul See you all 25.10 into CW -- DL8UD Heavy QRN with QSB tonight. -- EI5KF Very enjoyable. Band very noisy here Great Programme -- EI7CD Very poor propagation tonight -- EI7GY A bit noisey, not as many people heard as before. -- G0ATR rather better conditions than 0300 for EI DX ! -- G2AA very noisy band conditions i found -- G3LRS Fewer stations... -- G3Q Weak sigs from EI tonight! -- G3SWC Used SD Good Conditions rather poor -- G4BYE very very noisy and confusion with EI5KF and EI8KF otherwise a good evening. No visit from Murphy and computer worked fine for a change. Used SD which also worked perfectly. -- G4DDX Many weak signals, poor conditions. -- G4EBK Seemed to find some QRM-free slots this evening. N1MM+ with its Call History feature performed perfectly. -- G4FJK Really enjoyed the contest. Managed to work some good distances and band not too crowded - actually managed to find a clear frequency!
