RESULTS - 4th November 2015 - SSB

Thanks for taking part in the 5th contest in this series. Conditions were noisy again, however activity is slowly increasing with several new callsigns worked in each successive event. Congratulations to Stewart GM4AFF and Clive GM3X (GM3POI) on being equal winners overall, and to Leo UT2II and Valery UY2IF on winning their respective sections. We had a few log problems which delayed the adjudication process a bit - several logfiles had errors (we do our best to correct obvious formatting etc errors). For example, 2 stations had the wrong mode listed, 1 station had submitted his logfile from 28th Oct by mistake, another 2 stations had no sent locator in the Cabrillo and 2 logs were received after the deadline. We want your entry to be valid, but all of these errors would have been flagged up by the log submission robot and you would have been asked to resubmit your logfile, so please check what the robot asks you to correct before resubmission. Secondly, with the rule alteration now allowing the use of UK or EI Special Contest Callsigns, we had to wait until we downloaded the logfiles before updating the Bonus points awarded by changing some callsigns. Note - if you are in the Teams competition, all points you have made in the past will be credited, as will points made using an SCC in this or future contests. We have received some feedback from entrants - this is much appreciated. We will be discussing all these points in detail and will change things if changes are needed. We will add some extra comments to the 'Rules' webpage in the next few days to let you know what is being discussed and invite your comments. The next contest is on CW on the 25th November (an ideal warm-up for CQ WW CW), followed by SSB on 6th January 2016.
