80m CW Contest - 24th September 2025
Thanks for taking part in the first 80m CW contest of the 2025/26 season. Our apologies to those who searched without success for the UK bonus station. Due to an administrative error by our team, G5GEI was not QRV. Our intention is to have both bonus stations active in all contests. Conditions were poor for most entrants and, at least from Ireland, 100W output didn't make it very far into continental Europe. There were only three QSOs recorded at a distance over 2500km. Several logfiles were received from contesters taking part in a UKEICC 80m contest for the first time. We hope you enjoyed the contest and will join us again very soon. Finalised results are shown below. Congratulations to Gyula HG1G on winning overall and the HP category, and to Allan SM5CSS in second place overall and the leading LP entry. The leading QRP entry was G3P Mike (G3WPH) who scored 20th overall and, with 5W, worked a station at over 1600km. There were eight other QRP entries in this contest and they logged on average 35.5 QSOs--an impressive result. The Teams Competitions page now shows the three teams that have so far been registered for the Teams Competition for 2025/26. This overlay offers a fun addition to the UKEICC 80m contest series. Anyone--not just those in a formal club or contest team--can enter this as a team. Find up to three other ops to join you and, once registered, you will find yourself drawn to the Teams Competition results as much as the individual results. You have until the end of November to register your team of up to four members. Full details are in the 80m rules, Section 7.3. Thanks to Tim EI2KA for activating the Ei5G Bonus station. The next contest is on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 on SSB. Hope to hear you then. 73 from the UKEICC adjudication team. (Ei2KA, G4FJK, G4PVM, GW0ETF)
